The place was completely empty when we arrived besides the family who owned it. It wasn't a bad thing, but it was just too quiet. I ordered the Mongolian beef and my girlfriend got the shrimp lo mein. The serving were very large, almost too much to handle. In fact the outer portion of the meat was well cooked and beneath was cold. The fried noodles were stale. My girlfriend and I were really reluctant to try it but we decided to anyway. I wouldn't go back. But it wasn't horrible. I have hope that the Chen's Bistro can improve. Good luck to them!

This place is on point! Best meal I have had in a long time. Order off the Chinese menu and don't ask to change anything. Your mouth will thank you! Going to make this place my go to for great food!!!! #chinesedoneright

Service was friendly, but there was a discrepancy between the price on the takeout menu and the price I paid in person. The lunch special I picked up (spicy hunan beef) was $5.95 on the menu, but after tax, I ended up paying about $7.70. Not bad for lunch, and I know VA Beach's restaurant tax is high, but that didn't seem right. I placed my order to-go, and didn't open it up until I got back to the office, less than 2 minutes away. Next time, I'll peek before I leave. The amount of food (A LOT - I have leftovers for the next 2 dinners) was no match for the flimsy styrofoam takeout box, and a good amount of beef juice spilled from the box into the bag. It also would have been nice to have a set of chopsticks included in the bag, instead of a spork. Yep - place an order to go, and you're given a single napkin and a spork, with no knife or fork. I'd like to visit this place again and try something off of the regular menu (the pictures look really good!), but will probably go elsewhere for takeout.

Great authentic chinese food! If you like chinese food, go try out this place, price is fair and the food is great! Try out their beef noodle soup and steam dumplings, it's the best. Nice quiet family oriented atmosphere conveniently located near Lynnhaven Mall.

If you're looking for some authentic Chinese food try Chen's Bistro at Lynnhaven Crossing. I've been to Taipei many times and this is the closest thing I've had to authentic Chinese food here in the United States. Yes, the interior may need a little work, but what the restaurant lacks in decor, is made up by the quality of the food. The other aspects of this restaurant that will surprise you are the healthier dishes that bring Chinese medicine to the United States. Try the cloud mushroom if you have high cholesterol or sauté watercress with garlic for digestive problems. Food is medicine!
